Everything you need to know before your stay
Can we walk to the beach?
Yes. The house is within walking distance of three beaches. Praia da Ingrina — a small sheltered cove, ideal for calm swimming and families — is roughly 10–15 minutes on foot. Praia da Barranco, a more secluded spot, is about 10 minutes in the other direction. Praia do Zavial, a well-known surf beach with consistent Atlantic swells, is around 20–25 minutes on foot. All three are also a few minutes by car. In summer, walking is often quicker than finding parking.
Is the pool heated?
The pool is not heated. It sits in full sun from morning until late afternoon, which keeps the water at a comfortable swimming temperature from May through October — most guests find it ideal during these months without any heating. In winter and early spring it will be cold. The pool is 35 m², large enough to swim proper lengths. Some guests swim year-round regardless of the temperature.
Is there parking?
Yes — private parking is available directly on the property, free of charge. There is space for two or more vehicles. No need to search for street parking or worry about arrival time. The property is fully fenced and gated, so your car is secure throughout your stay. If you are travelling with multiple cars or a large vehicle, just let us know in advance.
Are pets allowed?
Not as a general rule — the house is not set up as a pet-friendly property. Exceptions may be possible depending on the animal. Please contact us before booking to discuss; we would rather be honest about whether it will work than have issues on arrival. Do not assume pets are welcome without checking first.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes — the house works well for families with young children. A travel cot and high chair are available on request at no extra charge; just mention it when you book. The garden is fully fenced. The pool is a highlight but requires constant adult supervision at all times — it is not shallow and has no safety barriers. Praia da Ingrina, the nearest beach, is calm and sheltered and well suited to younger children.
What is the minimum stay?
The minimum stay is 3 nights in low season and 7 nights in high season — July and August. Shoulder months (June and September) generally follow the 3-night rule but may vary. If your preferred dates fall just short of the minimum or don't fit neatly, contact us — we are sometimes flexible, particularly for last-minute bookings or gaps between existing reservations.
Where is the nearest supermarket?
The most convenient option for everyday shopping is the minimarket in Raposeira, about 3 km away — well-stocked for fresh produce, basics, and local products. Vila do Bispo, about 6 km away, has a Lidl and an Aldi, a local butcher, and a weekly fresh market with local fruit, vegetables, and fish. Sagres, 12 km away, has further options. We recommend stocking up on arrival — the surrounding area is quiet and the drives are short.
Is there WiFi?
Yes — high-speed WiFi is available throughout the house, including in all bedrooms and on the covered terrace. The connection handles video calls and streaming reliably. It also reaches the pool area, though most guests find they do not end up needing it there.
Can I arrange early check-in or late check-out?
Possibly, yes — it depends on when the previous guests depart and the time needed to prepare the house. If you plan to arrive before 16:00 or need to leave after 10:00, contact us as early as possible and we will check what is possible. We are happy to accommodate where the schedule allows, and will always give you a straight answer.
How does booking work?
Submit a booking request on the Book page with your dates and guest details. We check availability and reply within a few hours — always within 24 hours. Once confirmed, we send a secure payment link for a 50% deposit to hold the dates. The remaining balance is due 30 days before arrival. Payment is by card via Stripe or by PayPal. Nothing is confirmed until we have replied in writing and the deposit is received.
